Terms & Conditions

All sales made by Red Robin Cakes are subject to the following terms and conditions. Nothing contained within these terms and conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Please read the following terms and conditions. If there is anything you don't understand please feel free to contact us.

By paying your deposit it will be deemed that the terms and conditions are understood and accepted as applying to your order.

The price for the order shall be as stated on your order form. You agree to pay the full price to Red Robin Cakes in accordance with the order form after the details are checked and agreed by you.

Dates will be held once your deposit is received.
Quotations should be accepted within one month or will lapse.
All wedding cake orders require a non-refundable deposit of 40% of the total cost but not less than £100.
All other cake orders require a non-refundable deposit of 40% of the total cost but not less than £25.
Please note that all deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
All deposits become due when the order has been placed and details checked and agreed by you. All orders are deemed to have been accepted only when the deposit has been paid.

Payment can be made by: automated payments - Direct Bank/Building Society Transfer or Cash

Final Payments
Final payments for wedding cakes must be made at least one month prior to delivery/collection.
For all other celebration cake orders, the balance is due on delivery/collection UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED ON YOUR ORDER FORM.

In the event that any payment is subsequently declined/not received, the order will not be completed or released until alternative funding arrangements have been agreed and payment is made in full. Subsequent completion of the order will be subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Red Robin Cakes accepts no responsibility for any loss howsoever caused or for non-delivery under these circumstances. The customer will be responsible for the payment of any additional charges which have been incurred as a result of payment failure.

Alterations to orders
Your cake is very important to us and we want you to be 100% happy with your cake. Please take the time to check your copy of the order form carefully and let us know within three days if changes are needed. It is your responsibility to advise Red Robin Cakes of any alterations to the original order. If you would like to make changes to the agreed design after the deposit has been paid, please let us know no less than one month before the event. Red Robin Cakes reserves the right to increase a quoted fee in the event that the Customer requires a variation to the work agreed. Whilst every effort will be made to assist Customers, please note that late changes cannot always be guaranteed.

Your order may be collected at a pre-arranged time. A signature is required upon collection confirming that you have received your order in good condition and as specified. Please note that once the order has been signed for and left the premises, Red Robin Cakes takes no responsibility for any interference with or damage to the cake.
Please ensure after delivery or collection that your cake is kept out of sunlight and at room temperature. Cakes should never be stored in a car except when travelling to the event. Cakes covered in sugar paste or containing sugar paste decorations should not be kept in a refrigerator.
Please ensure that cakes displayed in marquees are set up as close to the guest arrival time as possible, as marquees become very warm on hot days.

Your order can be delivered at a pre-arranged time. If you have a specific delivery time please specify this when placing your order. We will do our best to accommodate your requirements.
It is the Customers responsibility to ensure that you have given us correct delivery information and that someone is available to receive your cake. A signature will be required for the receipt of the order upon delivery.
If the recipient is not in, the order will be returned to Red Robin Cakes, who will contact you to arrange an alternative delivery time, for which an additional charge will be payable by the customer. Red Robin Cakes accepts no responsibility for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the Customer as a result, e.g. a wedding without a wedding cake.
We are able to offer free personal delivery within a ten mile radius of Crawley for celebration cakes. For wedding cakes we are willing to travel further afield however this may incur an additional fee depending on the distance needed to travel.

Setting Up
Should you require your cake to be delivered, Red Robin Cakes will deliver and set up your cake as agreed and will want to ensure that your cake is displayed at it's best. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have provided Red Robin Cakes with the set-up details and arrangements made with the venue for the location and display of your cake. Red Robin Cakes cannot be held responsible for the location of the cake at the venue. Please ensure therefore, that the display location is level, stable and strong enough to hold the cake.
Please also remember that chocolate covered cakes can melt in warm conditions such as inside a marquee on a hot day, or when set up in direct sunlight.
As with collected cakes, once the cake has been delivered, set up and signed for, Red Robin Cakes is unable to accept liability for any interference with or damage to the cake thereafter.
If a cake is to be delivered and set up by Red Robin Cakes, a signature will be required from your venue management confirming the cake has been received and set up in good condition. A photograph of the cake will be taken prior to departure by Red Robin Cakes to verify that the cake has been set up and left in good condition.

Non-edible Components
Stacked cakes will be supported by internal plastic dowels/support rods which should be removed prior to serving. Any elements of your cake which are not fit for consumption, such as wired sugar flowers, will be highlighted on your confirmation form. It is your responsibility to ensure these items are removed prior to serving. Red Robin Cakes cannot take responsibility for any injury caused by consumption of a non edible component once the confirmation form has been signed.

Fresh Flowers
We are happy to liaise with your florist in order to dress your cake with a fresh floral arrangement. Please be aware some flowers can be toxic and should not be placed into contact with food. Your florist can advise you on the safest flowers to dress your cake with. Red Robin Cakes are not responsible for any problems with fresh flowers and any damage rendered to the cake caused by a fresh floral arrangement.

Please be aware that whilst your chosen cake may not be made with nuts or a nut product, it will be prepared in a kitchen where nut products may be used in other cakes and fillings, therefore we cannot guarantee that all cakes are 100% free from nut traces. The same principal applies to dairy, wheat, gluten and eggs.

Cake Stand Hire
If you would like to hire a cake stand, then a deposit is required prior to release. Deposit amounts vary dependent on the value of the stand you wish to hire. Please make arrangements to ensure that items hired are safely returned to us within 7 days of the cake release. Once we receive the hired stand back we will release the deposit held subject to the item being returned in perfect, undamaged condition.

Portion Guide
Our portion guides are intended as a guide only. This will vary dependent on how the catering staff at the venue cuts the cake.

As your wedding or celebration cake booking is reserved solely for you and certain components/ingredients may be ordered weeks in advance, the following conditions are implemented when an order is cancelled:
More than 1 month from delivery date - 40% of the total cost will be payable (your non refundable deposit).
0 to 1 month from delivery date - 100% of the total cost will be payable.
Any cake order cancellations must be made in writing.

Please note that no person shall have entitlement to copy or reproduce in any form, or otherwise make use of any image, photograph, design or other document or item produced by or on behalf of Red Robin Cakes without prior consent of Red Robin Cakes.

Publication and promotional rights
By signing the order form the customer agrees that Red Robin Cakes is the sole designer and owner of the final cake design. All rights in any original designs created and designed by Red Robin Cakes shall remain the exclusive property of Red Robin cakes. From time to time our designs may be published in the media, e.g. wedding magazines. We reserve the right to use any image of a Customer's cake made by Red Robin Cakes for publication after the delivery date unless previously agreed in writing between the Customer and Red Robin Cakes. The Customer has no ownership rights over any cake design. Exclusivity of cake designs between our Customers is not guaranteed unless the Customer commissions an exclusive design.

Please note cakes with sponge tiers/cupcakes may not be completed until the day prior to or the day of the celebration to ensure the cakes are as fresh as possible. Please pre-arrange viewings of any wedding cakes ordered if you wish to see the completed cake before the event. Red Robin Cakes accepts no liability for any omissions or errors on wedding cakes if they are not viewed by the Customer prior to the wedding.

Our Liability
Our liability to you is limited to the price of the cake and we cannot be held responsible for any indirect losses which may happen as a consequence of any breach by us of these terms, however arising . However, this does not include or limit in any way our liability for any matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude, or attempt to exclude our liability.

Events outside our control
We cannot be liable or responsible for any failure to perform or delay in performance of any of our obligations under these terms that is caused by any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control. Red Robin Cakes strongly recommends that you purchase wedding insurance when planning your wedding.

Revisions to these terms and conditions
We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions. However, you will be subject to the terms and conditions in force at the time you place your order with us.

Law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions will be governed by English Law.
